A sacramental record indicates an individual's canonical status-their status in the Catholic Church as it relates to the sacraments that they have received. This includes Baptism, Confirmation, Marriage and Decree of Nullity. Please note that we only have records for sacraments that were received in a Roman Catholic parish within the boundaries of the Diocese of Calgary. See the boundaries here
The Diocese of Calgary is pleased to introduce a new, streamlined process for requesting sacramental records. All requests are not submitted through the Diocese's online application form. This ensures that requests are processed efficiently, communication with parishes is clear, and families receive support in a timely manner.
Please note that while the RCDCA will make every effort to locate requested records, we cannot guarantee the availability of a record. Please allow a minimum of 2 weeks for requests to be processed.
How to apply for Sacramental Records
Step 1: Prepare Information Applicants should have valid documentation to verify sacramental record information. The online application will specify what is required.
Step 2: Complete Online Application Sacramental record requests are to be submitted through the online application form. No information from sacramental records is to be provided over the phone or by other electronic means. No fee is to be charged by the parish.
Step 3: Diocese Reviews Application The Diocese will review the application request, and, if applicable, will forward to the relevant parish for processing and issuing a copy of the record.
